I am an award-winning photographer and moviemaker and a Licentiate of the Institute of Fashion and Glamour Photographers. I specialise in apparel photography for lookbooks and e-commerce.
I am equally adept at working in the studio or on location. I customise each package to suit individual requirements. For example some clients prefer a “one stop” approach where, in addition to the photography, I assist with casting suitable models, styling, props, providing qualified hair and makeup artists. This is followed up with a retouching service to highest magazine quality, all delivered within a very tight timeframe.
Other clients require the photography, studio and retouching only, and certain clients need the photography service only, using their in-house design team to retouch.
Rest assured you can expect reliability and consistency – the same look from shoot to shoot, with the reassurance that your images will be supplied both print-ready and web-ready within your deadline!
The Studio...
The studio is close to Southend-on-Sea, around an hour by train on the C2C line. It has a self-contained dressing room, and a large variety of props and other set dressing accessories. The studio has numerous Bowens light units on a ceiling tracking system, along with a comprehensive range of light modifiers. A live view system allows clients to view images on the large screen the moment they are shot, using the latest Capture One software.
Why "Retro Photostudio"?
When the studio started, around fifteen years ago, I was (and still am!) a big fan of retro styled images. With the upsurge of interest in forties and fifties style fashion I have provided my services to a number of rockabilly/retro apparel companies.
Although I am still asked to provide such vintage and pinup images on a regular basis, the bulk of my clients are requesting the contemporary style I have developed. You will still examples of both styles of shooting within this portfolio.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to work creatively with companies, interpreting their vision to ensure their products stand out from their competitors.
